The campus wide "UQconnect" network, which covers all libraries, refectories and many other communal spaces, is now available at ITEE!
You can access this network in the GP South, Axon and Hawken buildings wirelessly via the network SID "UQconnect" (without the quotes), and via ethernet in GP South via the wired connection points available in the foyer and the other "BYO" labs. All three of these buildings have extensive, ultra-fast 802.11g wireless coverage, and in the case of GP South, 10/100mbit ethernet ports. For coverage information, see the UQconnect wireless coverage maps.
To access the internet, simply enter your ITS username and password when the login page appears. To access the ITEE network, click on the "ITEE Student VPN" link on the login page, download and install the Windows ITEE VPN software package, and use your ITEE username and password when connecting via the new network connection it creates.
If you are having problems you'll find that most of your friends and fellow students are more than happy to show you how it all works, or you could try posting your questions to other students via the uq.itee.general newsgroup. Of course, if you are still having problems connecting to the UQconnect network, you can contact ITS by emailing help@its.uq.edu.au. If your problem relates to the ITEE Students VPN, you can direct your enquiry to student-helpdesk@itee.uq.edu.au.
