ITEE has as a rule tried to provide a network for our students which is left open as much as possible to provide an environment of learning and experimentation. However, as a result of an incident on Friday when two students remotely shutdown multiple systems being used by a scheduled prac class we have been forced to lock down peer to peer networking on our student network.
This should not effect any resources required by your ITEE coursework. It is unfortunate that again the actions of a few mean less freedom for all.
As an aside we were able to detect the students who ran the shutdown script via the electronic and video logging we keep of all events. They have been cautioned and are currently awaiting further action.
