H: IS FOR STUDY RELATED MATERIAL ONLY!

Please be aware that ITEE's policy of removing hard quotas on student home drives (which were previously in the order of a few hundred megabytes only) in favour of student controlled responsible use means you are now responsible for ensuring your own use is appropriate and not excessive. Any use deemed excessive, not related to your studies, illegal, or in violation of the conditions of facilities use, or in violation of ITEE or UQ policy will be removed and you may be reported to the ITEE School Manager for facilities misconduct.

Scheduled outage: today at 5.30pm. Save your work and logout prior to this time to avoid data loss.

The ITEE storage system will be undergoing maintenance this afternoon at 5:30pm. Several ITEE services will be unavailable during this period so we require that any work is saved before the outage to prevent data loss. This applies especially, but not only, to work on network drives (such as H:\ or group shares.) This outage is expected to take 1 hour, but depending on several factors may take longer than this to complete.

Foyer Plasma Display now available! Live PC status maps, video feeds, notices, and information feeds...

As the Foyer-LCD display was so popular, we've upgraded it to a 50" plasma display. This has allowed us to increase the prominence and usefulness of the information displayed. Also recently installed in the Axon Building foyer is an NEM-Watch LCD display, which periodically streams to the GP South plasma.

Rembo 4 on the student network for Summer Semester 2005/2006

Summer semester students will notice that the labs are using Rembo 4 instead of Rembo 2. This should make things faster and more stable. An enhanced version of the system will be available in Semester 1, 2006, assuming this semester's trial is successful.

Do not store non-study related material in your profile or on your H:.

Per the ITEE acceptable use policy and University policies on computer use, there is a requirement that material stored (and therefore backed up nightly to tape) in your home directory or downloaded via the proxy must be relevant to your studies. Failure to observe this restriction is likely to lead to your download and account privileges being withdrawn. Downloads and disk usage are closely monitored.
